10 Reasons You Should Buy The 2019 Chevy Silverado
Spanning well over three decades, David Letterman came into our homes on a late night tv talk show of one or another. Proudly, Letterman has entertained us with a variety of segments like “Hello Deli”, and “Will It Float?”. However, his most famous bit is, without a doubt, the “Top 10 List”. Each night, this list would be compiled by Letterman’s writing staff and would circulate around a common theme.
Letterman knew keeping lists short and sweet was a perfect formula. At Regester Chevrolet, we don’t believe the wheel needs a reinvention.
So, without further ado…Tonight’s Top 10…10 Reasons You Should Buy The 2019 Chevy Silverado!
#10 All About That Base
We’re all about that base, no treble. We’re sure Megan Trainor would agree that the base model Silverado comes very well equipped. The base model will feature 17-inch steel wheels, vinyl or cloth seats and black exterior trim. Also included in the base model is a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and throwback grille design that shockingly does not feature the trademark bowtie, instead sports CHEVROLET in block lettering.
For those drivers looking for more options, Chevy does offer eight trim levels to the Silverado. There is sure to be a perfect trim for every driver.
#9 The Big Back Seat
With the expansion of the exterior, comes expanding of the interior. This Silverado features improved rear seat comfort in the four-door crew cab, as the legroom has improved from 40.9 inches to 43.8 inches. In addition to the added legroom, Chevy has included two large storage bins in the rear seatbacks, as well as storage space under the rear seat bottom.
#8 Improved Aerodynamics
The new 2019 Silverado has a 7% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency, even though it sits an inch higher than last year’s model. The secret is the steeper windshield and an integral roof spoiler.
#7 Custom And/Or Custom Trailboss Trim
The Custom trim provides body-color exterior trim, 20-inch aluminum wheels and LED taillights. One step up is the Custom Trailboss trim that offers a 2.0-inch lift, as well as the Z71 Off Road package. In addition, the Trailboss will include a locking rear differential, skid plates, a set of Rancho shocks and 18 inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear DuraTrac tires.
#6 Old Faithful, LTZ & High Country
The standard bearer of the Silverado trim line is the LT. The classic Chevy bowtie badge is front and center of the grille. There are added chrome bits, LED headlights and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. If the previous Trailboss is something you liked, the LT will have that option and will feature all of the off-road ready equipment from the Custom Trailboss plus the added convenience items from the LT. The best of both worlds.

If an all you can eat buffet is your thing, perhaps the LTZ or High Country trim levels are for you. Both represent the pinnacle of the Silverado trim levels and are just radiating in luxury. The former comes with standard luxury and convenience items like the leather seating and power folding exterior mirrors, while the latter of the two includes a special two-tone grille, chrome running boards and standard power tailgate.
#5 American Steel Makes For A Bigger And Badder Truck
While Ford has elected an aluminum body, Silverado believes American steel is the way to go. Normally, steel construction would weigh the truck down and cause drag on the aerodynamics, the Silverado defies science thanks to some very clever engineering. The 2019 edition is 450lbs. lighter than its predecessor, while at the same time it’s also larger. The wheelbase is as much as 3.9 inches longer than the previous version and the overall length is larger as well.
#4 Give Me Fuel, Give Me Fire…You Know The Rest
Yes, Metallica, Chevy heard you. Dynamic Fuel Management is what Chevy is calling its new technology that debuts in the 2019 Silverado.
For Chevrolet, this is the most significant upgrade its cylinder-deactivation tech has undergone since it debuted in 2005. The new technology should boost fuel economy by 5% compared to previous Silverados that shut off specific cylinders or entire cylinder banks during cruising or coasting.
#3 California King Size Bed
Every 2019 Silverado comes equipped with a larger bed, regardless of cab configuration. You will love the additional seven inches of extra floor width. In addition, an available power-operated tailgate is new and allows drivers to open and close the tailgate with their key fob or a button, located in the front cabin.
The bed floor is made of a new high-strength steel and is 1.5 times the strength of the previous model. This bed comes with 12 stationary tie-downs that are double the strength of the ones on the previous version. If you need more tie-downs, there is available set of nine that will be offered as an accessory. When it’s all said and done bed space has increased to 23% more in 2019.
#2 Big Daddy Cool, Diesel
No, we aren’t talking former WWE Champion, Diesel aka Kevin Nash. Instead, the long wait for a diesel option is over. New to 2019 is a turbocharged 3.0 liter inline-six diesel engine. Chevy will offer both the 6.2 liter V-8 and the turbo-diesel with stop/start technology and they come paired with a 10 speed automatic transmission.
And the #1 reason you should buy the 2019 Chevy Silverado…drum roll, please…
